Yes, revolution is about to come! And it’s not the first time. However, the impact will be a bit different, than described, I believe. First of all, there will be even more demand for those, who write code to make software no-code, because it will be completely new level to reshape domain knowledge previously mostly Turing-complete codified into less expressive languages and more generic Turing-complete code. Second, because all abstraction leak, what was at first code-less, will be necessarily given some “scripts”. So either users become “coders” or there will be subindustry formed to “script”, just like it was (still is?) with writing VBA macroses.

However, as every wave of technological fashion, this one will surely not be hype-only. Hopefully, it will create even more “links” between different applications, so that applications of applications will be easier to create.

And another big factor is growing AI / machine learning sector, which will no doubt be made both more accessible with the “no-code”, and even help people build applications of applications.
