While I agree with the first part, the house-keeping part is more multi-dimensional. There is a whole spectrum of how people keep their houses. From very cleaning-obsessed ones to those, for whom it's done just once, usually, only after the person passed away.

Some creative people have their ateliers in working disorder. Etc.

Thus I'd not really used the house-keeping metaphor here. Untidy code is worse problem than untidy house. It's more like untidy mind...
