Where is C++ really indispensable? Is it just for writing unsafe bloatware? My best guess is that C will continue to dominate embedded software for now, but eventually, something new will emerge - something that combines the human/AI readability and "mathyness" of Python/Julia with the power of lower-level languages. LLMs will likely play a key role in facilitating the creation of that new language. Maybe some whole new paradigm, suitable for neuromorphic programming will replace C/C++ on embedded devices. Unless quantum advances will totally change the landscape of computing.
