So well put I have nothing to criticize here! I see it also a very big problem, than many(?) developers are tuned to this crappy quality-deliver faster madness and probably never saw anything better in their whole careers.

They have no way to taste there is a better stable island of quality software, and development is not that much slower on that island, and even cheaper and faster in the longer term.

Skilled in art produce code both faster and much better quality.

I hope the attitude is not universal though. Good developers take pride in what they create - this is especially visible in Open Source projects.

The incentive to make a quantum leap should come from folks themselves.
