It's a misunderstanding, or perhaps I explained it carelessly. I do not mean that reason is the highest overall, but I separate lower spheres (more related to the material world, if that helps clarify) from higher ones - more aligned with the spiritual domain.

This is more in line with Ken Wilber's arc of development, which places the mental in the middle (and currently at the top in Western psychology, middle in the body-soul/reason-spirit of traditional Christian thought).

Thus, the question remains: Do you understand the "impulses" or "instincts" of Jesus as coming from these lower spheres, which a well-developed individual integrates during the transition from early childhood to adulthood, or would a different term - perhaps more like divine revelations from above - be more accurate?

On a side note, reason can only understand higher spheres symbolically.
