Earth is not the only planet in the Solar system. Technologies (AI, nano, Solar/wind energy) are about right to start exploring space around. Cancer research and medicine is probably the key to space exploration, maybe fusion tech as well.

Does not mean we should not let overconsumption go and take other measures. But not every resource is scarce.

Yes, big shift is needed in the economy. Electronics can work much longer than we imagine (I have some pieces, which worked for 30+ years). It's a question of will.
