All these simulation ideas actually being back religeous truth. Just read the Bible (again?), thinking about simulation. Sinners will be erased, the rest will proceed to the next simulation? Or the other way around?

May be simulation we presumably are in is not about physics? It may be society and moral, and other soft factors. As with religions, free will is needed.

Also, I'd mentioned Jung's synchronicity as one more example of "matrix glitches".

As for how many minds are really simulated: Who really knows? Maybe that mega-computer uses some just-in-time technology to "reanimate" the stranger you will meet next minute?

There is one more possibility. It may be, that the structure of the Universe is really recursive - in the sense of Langan's CTMU (telic recursion). Meaning, that our universe "simulates" itself, and sentient creatures accelerate the process.
